Tea by Post is a project based around seed-sharing. It marks the beginning of long-term sustainable work and collaboration at the intersection of visual arts, ecology, food studies and anthropology.
Initiated by artist Brenda Kearney in early 2021, it began with a call for public participation. In return for sharing seeds by post, participants received updates on research and growing in the form of small drawings and publications, and a special edition herbal tea at the project's harvest time. This tea served as a portrait of all seeds generously shared. This initial run of the project was designed as an open research year, which developed in response to interest and participation. Tea by Post is deliberately slow-growing, please check for updates!
